About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how 808 GameLabs handles information when you use Word Wheel (the “App”), package identifier com.gamelabs808.wordwheel.
Word Wheel is published by Harshit Kumar, an individual operating as 808 GameLabs, India (“808 GameLabs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
1. Scope
This Policy applies to Word Wheel and its in-app legal and support links. It does not govern an app store, advertisement, or third-party website that has its own privacy policy.
Word Wheel has no 808 GameLabs account, login, cloud save, public chat, or social feed.
2. Information kept on your device
The following information is stored locally in the App’s private storage:
- game progress, completed levels, stars, and daily streak;
- your Word Book of bonus words;
- the current puzzle — words found, letters shown, hearts and the clock — so an interrupted game can resume;
- your optional player name, selected avatar, and selected frame;
- sound, music, haptics, and language choices;
- onboarding and consent status;
- hint, reward, and advertising frequency counters;
- a random installation code created on this device and the date the App was first opened, used to place the App in a testing group and count days since install (only the group number, 0–99, and the day count are sent with analytics); and
- a cached copy of game configuration.
808 GameLabs does not receive this local game data. Deleting the App or clearing its storage normally deletes it. Settings → Delete account (named that way although Word Wheel has no online account; you are asked to confirm first) erases your game data and profile but keeps the items listed in section 5. Because there is no cloud save, we cannot restore erased data.
If you use Android backup or iCloud backup, your device backup may include this data and restore it on a new device; those backups are controlled by your device settings and by Google or Apple, not by us.
Word Wheel does not send notifications and does not use a notification server, Firebase Cloud Messaging, or remote push notifications.
3. Information processed when the App connects
Depending on your device, region, consent choices, build configuration, and the feature used, the following information may be processed:
Gameplay and app analytics
Google Analytics for Firebase may receive events such as opening or completing a game, the level involved, outcome, score, duration, and use of game features. Google may also process an app instance identifier and technical information such as app version, device model, operating system, language, approximate region derived from an IP address, and event time. Events can also include whether an ad was requested, shown or failed, whether the device was online, days since the App was first opened, a testing-group number, a random code for the current session, and how the App was installed (install referrer).
We use this information to find crashes, understand whether levels are working as intended, and improve the App. We do not send your optional player name, the words you find, your Word Book, or the contents of your saved puzzle in analytics events or crash reports; analytics receives counts, such as how many words you found.
Crash reports
Firebase Crashlytics may receive crash stack traces, diagnostic logs, app version, device model, operating system details, available memory or storage, crash time, and installation or session identifiers. We use this information to diagnose and fix failures. Crash reporting starts when the App opens and is not affected by your advertising consent choices. Crash reports do not include your player name or saved games.
Advertising
Google AdMob and its advertising partners may process an IP address, device and app information, advertising or app-scoped identifiers where available, consent signals, and interactions with an advertisement. These services use the information to deliver ads, limit repetition, prevent fraud, measure performance, and, where you have allowed it, personalize ads.
Word Wheel uses interstitial ads at natural breaks, such as the end of a level or moving between screens, never over a game in progress, and optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch for an offered in-game benefit. It does not use banner ads or app-open ads.
On Android, Google’s ads SDK may use Privacy Sandbox features such as Topics where your device allows them.
Non-personalized and limited ads can still require technical information such as an IP address for delivery, security, frequency control, and aggregate reporting.
Configuration and web requests
The App may request a small configuration file used for matters such as ad frequency and game tuning. The server or content delivery network receives ordinary request data such as your IP address, the time and basic connection information. The request carries no identifier, account or game data.
If you open our Privacy Policy, Terms, or support pages in a browser, the website host receives the information normally sent with a web request. If you contact us by email, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send.
4. Information we do not ask for
The App does not ask for your legal name, postal address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera, precise location, health information, or payment-card details.
The optional player name is a local label. Do not use sensitive personal information in it.
5. Consent and your choices
- EEA, UK, Switzerland, and other supported regions: Word Wheel uses Google’s consent flow where required. If a privacy-options entry is available in Settings, you can reopen it and change or withdraw your choice.
- iOS: Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt controls permission for tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. You can change it in iOS Settings.
- Android and iOS: you can reset or restrict the advertising identifier through device privacy settings.
- Local data: tap Settings → Delete account and confirm to erase your progress, stars and streak, your Word Book, your saved puzzle, hint and reward allowances, and your player name, avatar and frame. The App then returns to its start screen. Delete account keeps your sound, music, haptics and language settings, your acceptance of these terms and your consent answers, advertising frequency counters, the cached configuration and the installation code described in section 2, so you are not asked again. It does not delete records already held by Google (see section 11). To remove everything, clear the App’s storage or delete the App.
- Rewarded ads: watching one is optional. Declining does not prevent ordinary play.
6. Why we process information
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- your consent for personalized advertising, tracking, and storage or access that requires consent;
- our legitimate interests in operating, securing, debugging, measuring, and improving a free game, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- performance of our agreement with you when processing is needed to provide a feature you request; and
- compliance with legal obligations and the establishment or defence of legal claims.
7. Sharing
We do not sell personal information for money.
We disclose information only:
- to service providers that support the functions described above, principally Google for AdMob, consent management, Firebase Analytics, and Crashlytics, and providers that host our website or configuration;
- when you direct us to, such as by opening a third-party link;
- when required by law or a valid legal process; or
- to protect users, the public, 808 GameLabs, or the security and integrity of the App.
Google and advertising partners may act as independent controllers for some advertising purposes. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and read Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Retention
- Local game and settings data remains until it is overwritten, erased with Settings → Delete account, you clear App data, or you delete the App.
- Firebase Crashlytics generally keeps crash stack traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before removal begins, according to Google’s published Firebase information.
- Firebase Analytics event data, where analytics is enabled, is kept for no longer than the retention period set in our Google Analytics settings (at most 14 months); advertising information is retained under Google’s policies.
- Support email is normally kept for up to 24 months after the matter is closed, unless a longer period is needed for security, legal compliance, or a continuing dispute.
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we and our providers use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or contractual protections.
10. Children
Word Wheel is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13.
You must be at least 13 to accept the in-app welcome notice. If the law where you live requires authorization from a parent or guardian at an older age, you may use the App only with that authorization. In India, this includes users treated as children under applicable data-protection law.
If you believe a child’s information has been processed contrary to this section, contact [email protected]. Because the App has no account, please include enough technical detail for us and our providers to identify the relevant record where possible.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection; withdraw consent; opt out of certain advertising disclosures; nominate another person where applicable; and complain to a data-protection authority.
You can erase the data Word Wheel keeps on your device yourself at any time with Settings → Delete account (see section 2). To make any other request, or to ask about data held by Google, email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject. Because Word Wheel has no account and does not display an identifier, we may be unable to link a request to records held by Google. Resetting your device’s advertising ID and using Delete account limit further linkage; we will explain what we can and cannot do. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
California and some other US states: personalized advertising can be a “sale” or “sharing” under state law even when no money changes hands. Where the law gives you this right, open Settings → Privacy options to opt out; you can also turn off ad personalization in your device settings or email us.
Grievance Officer (India): Harshit Kumar, [email protected] (subject “Grievance”). We aim to respond within 30 days. Where available, you may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. Network traffic to supported services uses encrypted connections, and local data is stored in the App’s private storage area. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when Word Wheel, our providers, or applicable requirements change. We will update the date above. If a change materially affects how information is used, the App will present an updated notice or request acceptance where appropriate.
